Evaluating the Blogging Challenge It’s been a long semester of blogging, even though my blogging work sometimes makes me stay up until 12 o’clock to finish, I get an extra amount of homework on my shoulders and sometimes overall just makes me tired I think the blogging challenge was a great experience. The blogging challenge has helped me improve on so many things, and without it I wouldn’t be the same today. It has helped me with writing, researching and many more. The most interesting challenge for me would be the free choice activity.
I visited blogs quite often, about 2 times a day but I rarely left comments, I’m not sure why, I just didn’t have time to write a comment. Oh, I read the flipboard magazine many, many times, it was my way of finding something to read when I was board. It’s a great thing to do if you want to improve. You get to socialize and learn about new and different cultures. It’s great to keep you busy so you don’t get lazy. There will be a lot of work to do though. It gives you a lot of pressure also to finish it. If you’re like me and have a lot of extracurricular activities you might even die of work. I think the most important thing I learnt while doing this challenge is that you should take your time on your posts and don’t rush them. If you take your time you will be able to get quality posts out and if you just rush your posts, then they won’t turn out good and you won’t be happy at what you did.

Inventions A Drawing of My Invention Thomas Edison, Leonardo Da Vinci, Alexander Graham Bell and Galileo Galilei. What do they all have in common? All of them are inventors but, what is an invention? An invention is a device that has not been created before.
Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb and the phonograph, Leonardo Da Vinci invented the most famous flying machine, although it’s not the same as the modern helicopter but there are sketches that he made that looked like a helicopter. Alexander Graham Bell invented telephone! And Galileo Galilei, one of the best astronomer invented his famous telescope and helped with the development of clocks. These inventions sparked many other inventions and helped make things easier. Aren’t you glad they invented these things? Some people don’t even realize how big these inventions are. There are also many other inventions that changed humanity. The internet, GPS, the microscope and the telescope. These are some inventions that you would dread living without. What I will tell you today is some of my personal favorite inventions and one invention that I have made, well I did not exactly make it, I just thought of it, let’s just say something I thought of that would make students’ life easier. Paper Paper would be one of my favorite inventions because, I use paper every day at school! To take notes, to draw, and much more. You use paper to make invitations, and to draw something. Yes, with the technology today you can do that with a computer, but paper is quick and easy to use. It’s also portable. You might not realize it, but paper is one of the most important things in school. Glasses I am farsighted myself, and I do both have glasses and contact lenses. I think glasses are good, it’s cool that you can put on something to wear and that will be able to fix your eyesight. Some people have super bad eyesight, but glasses can fix everything, granted it won’t technically fix your eyesight permanently but it can help. My Invention I thought about making it because I was having trouble cutting a cardboard straight. I wanted that cardboard to be specifically 9.5 inches by 9.5 inches but I was having trouble because the cardboard was quite hard. I’m not sure what to call it, I think it should be named ‘Rife Ruler Knife.’ It is a long ruler that has many types of measurements like centimeters, inches etc. On one side of the ruler there is a sharp blade that can cut through hard material. And on the other side, there is a strip of sandpaper to file down any mistakes. There are also rubber covers covering each side of the Rife. Now how to use it? You measure your desired material and then use the blade side and press on it to cut though the material. You can also use the sandpaper side to file down rough edges. Emma's Blog My Favorite Blog That I Visit Often Emma's blog is personally my favorite blog! I don’t comment a lot on her blog, but I visit it all the time for inspiration. Would I recommend you check it out? Obviously, yes! Let me tell you why:
I love her blog because it’s very organized and simple. Emma is in year 6 which means grade 6, because she lives in Australia. Emma has a lot of quality content on her blog. She also writes a lot in her blog. I like that because it’s a sign that she spends a lot of time on her blog. I also think her personality is cool, you can tell it by the way she writes her posts. Some of my favorite posts of hers are: http://emmac23.edublogs.org/2017/11/17/student-blogging-challenge-week-6-visiting-others/ http://emmac23.edublogs.org/2017/10/21/student-blogging-challenge-week-2-activity-3-the-land/ http://emmac23.edublogs.org/2017/06/08/passion-project-reflecting/ About Commenting I love to comment! It’s cool, looking at others’ posts and talking about it. I’m sure all of you love to comment too. Today I will answer some questions about commenting etc.
“What have you enjoyed about commenting?” One of my favorite things about commenting is that when the owner of the blog replies to your comment. It makes you feel so special. Another thing I love, is the other comments people post. It’s so fun reading other comments and seeing their opinions. “What is annoying about commenting?” This is the one thing that I get annoyed by when commenting. The thing that gets on my nerves the most is when people use incorrect grammar or that their comments are only two to three words like ‘Nice blog.’ Or ‘Your blog is very good. I like it.’ It’s very annoying when people do that. “How have you found interesting posts to comment on?” Well, this question is easy. I usually read a lot of blogs when I’m bored. I don’t tell anyone, but I read a lot of blogs. I either go to Ms. W.’s flipbook magazine and just find an interesting blog. Sometimes, I go to the student blogging challenge website and find the page where all the bloggers are enrolled, and then I just go through the names and randomly pick a blog. “Are your posts getting lots of quality comments? Why or why not?” I have been getting a lot and a variety of comments recently. Some are quality comments and some are OK. Why? Since one of my posts was selected for blogging challenge, I have been getting a lot of comments! And since there are a lot of different ages participating in the blogging challenge, some are more experienced, some are just beginners. http://21wattk.edublogs.org/2017/11/19/why-are-french-fries-called-french-fries-sbc4/ Dear Nook, French fries! I love that you made a post about French fries since a lot of people enjoy them. I like your post a lot, it’s really nice. I knew that French fries originated in Belgium because there were a lot of people having a debate about it. I never knew the story though, it’s interesting that a long time back Belgians used to use potatoes and fry them to make French fries because that’s what they did with fish. I still think that we should call them French fries, why? Like you said in your post, they called them French fries because the Belgians spoke French even though a lot of people can mistake this as the country France, more people need to learn that “French” is a language that is used in other countries and not just France. If we called them Belgian fries, then people will get confused. We are so used to calling them French fries that if we changed it then it will take a long time for people to adapt to this change. I did a little research on my own, did you know that Belgian fries are different from the French fries we eat today? The Belgians used to call them “Les frites” The difference between Frites and fries are that they’re fried twice. Best Regards, Mai Thao Tessa's Post - http://photography28.edublogs.org/2017/11/05/free-post/ Dear Tessa, I liked your post a lot! It’s very nice how you took something that is your passion and made a post about it. Though I don’t run often, I used to a lot last year but not in competitions or marathons. That’s so amazing that you’re the best runner on your team! Do you plan to continue running in the future? I understand you a lot, my class is like a family too. They are annoying and hard to deal with sometimes but then when they’re gone, I really miss them and their company! Best Regards, Mai Thao Chae's Post - http://21chaeh.edublogs.org/2017/11/05/the-best-candy-ever-made/ Dear Chae, Your post is very nice! I used to love eating candy a lot! Now, I don’t eat it very often, but I still enjoy it when I can. The candy I dislike the most would be Twix, and in your post, it’s ranked number 3 by Top Ranker! You said that your favorite candy is York Peppermint Patty, I kind of like it but I would prefer other candies. Even though my favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate chip I’m not a York Peppermint Patty person. Here are a few of the candies I like: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Twizzlers or Sour patch kids. My real favorite candy would have to be any sort of sour gummy. Best Regards, Mai Thao Poverty
